Kailash Satyarthi is an Indian Nobel Peace Prize laureate and social reformer who has dedicated his life to fighting child labor and advocating for children's rights. Born in 1954, Satyarthi left a promising career as an electrical engineer to establish Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement) in 1980. His organization has rescued more than 130,000+ children from exploitation, trafficking, and forced labor.

He is a legendary Indian cricketeer who was the first batsman to score over 10,000 runs and 35 Test Centuries! He was a key member of the Indian World Cup winning team in 1983! Amongst numerous awards and accolades that he received, he entered in the ICC Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Border Gavaskar Trophy was named after him in 1996.

He has been one of India’s foremost proponents of financial inclusion. He has also built numerous institutions that aim at creating large scale mpact on ground for the empowerment of communities at large. “Bandhan” is the name for not-for-profit entity that he has set-up in 2001 with the objective of changing the lives of the underprivileged by hand holding them in their entrepreneurial journey. The entity transformed from a NGO to an NBFC in 2006 and finally into a Universal Bank in 2015. This is the first instance of a microfinance institution transforming to a bank. The ethos of empowering people with financial inclusion drives Mr. Ghosh leaving behind a legacy of impact creation and purpose led financial empowerment!
